Two teenagers, aged 17 and 18, were arrested for allegedly robbing women on the Athens subway network, specifically targeting passengers at ISAP stations by violently pulling chains from their necks. The arrests took place on the evening of July 6, 2026, when police officers, on patrol in Kifisia, apprehended the suspects.
During their arrest, the teenagers were found in possession of a stun gun, which indicates they may have been prepared for more aggressive confrontations. Authorities are investigating multiple instances of these brazen thefts, with victims reportedly approached and stripped of their jewellery in public settings. The police have not ruled out the possibility of further arrests as the investigation continues.
