A traffic ban will be enforced in various areas of Thessaloniki and Kilkis due to an elevated risk of wildfire. The ban will take effect from 7:30 AM on Saturday and will last until 7:30 AM on Sunday. The decision was made by the Deputy Regional Governor, Kostas Youtikas, in response to the severe fire risk exacerbated by ongoing heatwave conditions.
The specific locations affected by the ban include the forests of Seich Sou, Oreokastro, Panorama, and Thermi. Authorities are implementing these safety measures to prevent potential wildfires, which have prompted increased vigilance and precautionary actions across the region.
