The Anti-Narcotics Service of Cyprus (ΥΚΑΝ) has made a third arrest in connection with a case involving the importation and possession of six kilograms of dried poppy bulbs. A 22-year-old male was taken into custody on Friday as part of the ongoing investigation. The dried poppy bulbs were discovered within postal parcels in the Famagusta District.
In addition to the recent arrest, two other suspects are currently being held in custody for a total of seven days as authorities continue to probe the matter. The investigation is centered around the legality of the items found and their potential implications regarding drug trafficking.
