Cyprus has launched a new digital service aimed at streamlining the renewal process for residence permits for third-country nationals. The initiative, which became operational on July 6, 2026, is driven by the Deputy Ministry of Migration in collaboration with the Deputy Ministry of Research and Innovation. This online platform allows eligible foreign nationals residing in Cyprus to electronically submit their applications for specific categories of residence permits.
According to the announcement, the new digital service is designed to reduce bureaucratic hurdles. While the application process can now be conducted online, physical presence will still be necessary at certain stages, particularly for tasks requiring a signature and biometric data collection. The service is expected to enhance accessibility for third-country nationals, making their application and renewal processes more efficient.
