The Minister of Labour, Marinos Mousiouttas, announced that pensioners can expect an increase in their benefits starting February 1, 2027, due to ongoing pension reforms in Cyprus. He emphasized that if the pension reform bill is successfully implemented as planned, retirees will begin to feel the effects of the adjustments by that date.
The bill, which pertains specifically to the first pillar of the pension system and is linked to social insurance, will soon be presented to social partners and is expected to be submitted to the Parliament around September 20, 2026, coinciding with the resumption of legislative activities after the summer recess. The anticipated reforms are part of a broader initiative to enhance the pension system in Cyprus.
