Early in the morning of June 24, 2026, gunshots were fired at a residential property in Tremithousa, Paphos. The police reported that the incident occurred around 3:45 AM, with the alert being made to authorities at approximately 7:00 AM. The house was occupied by a couple, aged 41 and 38, who were unharmed during the shooting. Investigators found bullet casings at the scene and have since cordoned off the area for further examination.
Initial findings suggest that the shooting may have been a case of mistaken identity, as the intended target appears to be a different residence nearby. The Paphos Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is actively investigating the matter, examining various leads and gathering evidence from the site. A 36-year-old man was later arrested in connection to the incident, as authorities work to piece together the events surrounding the shooting.
