Authorities in Thessaloniki, Greece, have made a fourth arrest in connection with the deadly arson attack on the home of Afroditi Nestora, a member of the New Democracy party. The attack, which took place in early July, resulted in the death of her mother, Vagia Nestora. The latest suspect, a 25-year-old man, was arrested for allegedly obtaining the keys to a hideout used in the attack from the 24-year-old owner of the apartment where the arson was planned.
The arrested individual is reported to have a prior history with law enforcement, having previously been detained for property damage alongside his brother. The police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the attack, which has drawn significant public and media attention. This recent arrest marks a critical step in the ongoing investigation into the incident, which is believed to be tied to a premeditated arson orchestrated by multiple individuals, including the previously arrested suspects.
