Eurobank has announced a substantial investment plan of up to €1 billion aimed at transforming its digital banking services. This investment marks the largest technology investment initiative in the bank's history and is set to take place from 2025 to 2028 as part of its new "Banking Forward" strategy, which emphasizes enhancing digital banking capabilities and transitioning to an advanced service model.
The strategy highlights a significant shift towards a unified technological architecture to support the bank's operations across five countries where it is active. Currently, Eurobank reports that 96% of its transactions are conducted digitally, reflecting a growing trend in the banking sector. Additionally, Eurobank is focusing on integrating artificial intelligence, particularly through applications like Agentic AI, to remain competitive in the evolving landscape of the financial industry.
Moreover, as part of the investment, Eurobank is extending its strategic partnership with Mastercard, indicating a commitment to innovate and improve customer experience in digital banking. The bank's new initiatives position it to lead in an increasingly digital and AI-driven marketplace.
