- Emergency services were mobilised in Pyrga, Larnaca, after a fire broke out near residential areas on July 19, 2026. The Fire Service and Forestry Department are leading the response, deploying both ground and aerial resources. Four fire engines are assisting the operation, working to contain the blaze which has threatened nearby homes. The Forestry Department has activated its emergency response plan known as "Astropos" to manage the situation. Volunteer groups are also participating in the firefighting efforts.
