In June 2026, Cyprus experienced a slight improvement in its economic climate, as indicated by a 0.2-point increase in the Economic Sentiment Indicator (ESI) compared to May. This was revealed in the latest monthly business and consumer survey conducted by the Economics Research Centre of the University of Cyprus (CypERC).
The uptick in economic sentiment was notably influenced by enhancements in the retail and construction sectors. Despite this marginal improvement, reports also acknowledged rising uncertainties within the economic environment, signaling caution as various factors could impact future growth. The findings suggest an ongoing recovery phase for the Cypriot economy, with particular attention to trends in retail and construction contributing positively to the overall sentiment.
