Telecommunications provider Cyta has announced its acquisition of the RedMax Data Centre located in the Latsia Industrial Area of Nicosia. This agreement, signed recently, aims to bolster Cyprus’ digital infrastructure and enhance the country’s status as a regional data hub. The transaction not only includes the purchase of the existing data centre but also involves plans for its expansion and upgrade, thereby increasing its capabilities in cloud service provision.
The investment is positioned as a significant step forward for Cyta as it seeks to develop its data center operations. The upgraded facility is expected to become operational in 2027, supporting the growing demand for digital services in Cyprus and beyond. This strategic move is seen as part of a broader effort by Cyta to strengthen the digital capacity of the island, ensuring that it remains competitive in the global digital economy.
