In the first quarter of 2026, the real estate sector in Cyprus experienced a significant surge in building activity, with building permits increasing by 44.1% compared to the same period in the previous year. The state statistical service, Cystat, reported that a total of 2,276 building permits were issued from January to March 2026, up from 1,580 permits issued during the same months in 2025.
This notable rise in construction activity has raised expectations for a potential construction boom in the country. Analysts and industry observers may view this trend as indicative of growing investment confidence in the Cypriot real estate market, although further developments will determine the sustainability of this growth.
