A recent study by the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ΒΕΑ), conducted in collaboration with KPMG, highlights key challenges facing small and micro businesses in Greece. The research identifies four primary obstacles that are perceived to hinder the growth and sustainability of these enterprises: high operating costs, bureaucratic red tape, difficulties in accessing financing, and a shortage of skilled personnel.
The study reflects the sentiments of small business owners who have expressed their struggles in adapting to the current economic climate. The findings were presented during the annual press conference of the chamber, emphasizing the need for policy changes to support these businesses in overcoming the barriers they face. As small and micro enterprises are vital to the Greek economy, addressing these challenges is critical for fostering their development and resilience.
