Greek police have arrested a 32-year-old man suspected of being the leader of a criminal gang involved in a series of ATM bombings across the country, which reportedly netted approximately €440,000. This arrest came after a comprehensive investigation conducted by the Directorate for Organized Crime, which lasted several months and culminated in the apprehension of the suspect.
The gang is alleged to have used explosives to target various ATMs, and at least one incident involved the gang members firing at police officers during their escape after an explosion in Argolis in July 2025. In addition to the ATM bombings, the group is suspected of being involved in vehicle thefts and other criminal activities. The ongoing investigation aims to uncover further details about the gang's operations and any accomplices involved.
