A preliminary agreement has been reached between the AKTOR Group and Motor Oil for AKTOR to acquire a 50% stake in Dioriga Gas. This transaction signals AKTOR's strategic move to strengthen its position in critical energy infrastructure, particularly in the area of liquefied natural gas (LNG).
Dioriga Gas is engaged in developing a significant floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) in the maritime region of Agioi Theodoroi, which is aimed at enhancing Greece's energy system. The project is expected to create a new entry point for natural gas and serve as an energy gateway to Eastern European markets. This initiative highlights the growing importance of energy security in Southeast Europe.
The agreement includes a framework outlining the basic terms of the transaction, marking a notable collaboration in the infrastructure sector for LNG. Both companies aim to contribute to the broader national energy strategy through this acquisition.
