The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that its air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 660 Ukrainian drones during the night from Thursday to Friday. This figure, noted as one of the highest claimed by Russia to date, includes 47 drones that were allegedly targeting Moscow specifically.
The intercepted drones were said to have been destroyed over more than ten Russian regions, which included not only Moscow but also the Crimean Peninsula, the Black Sea, and the Sea of Azov. The Russian authorities did not provide details about the origin of the drones or any potential damage caused by those not intercepted.
Ukrainian officials have not commented on Russia's claims as of yet. The incident highlights the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia, particularly involving drone warfare, as both nations continue to escalate their military operations against each other.
