As of July 2026, Cyprus boasts 46 beaches and two marinas that have received the prestigious Blue Flag designation, which recognizes quality and sustainable management of coastal areas. This year's selection was announced by the Cyprus Marine Environment Protection Association (CYMEPA), indicating a continued commitment to environmental standards.
Among the recognized beaches, 25 are noted for their accessibility features, catering to individuals with mobility difficulties. This accessibility initiative reflects a broader effort to enhance inclusivity in recreational areas throughout the island. The Blue Flag program is widely regarded as a significant international distinction, promoting environmental quality and safety for beachgoers.
The ongoing success of receiving the Blue Flag since its inception demonstrates Cyprus’s dedication to maintaining high environmental standards and providing accessible recreational facilities.
