A 4.3 magnitude earthquake struck the region of Lakonia in Greece early on Monday, June 29, 2026. The earthquake was reported to have occurred around 01:10 AM, with its epicenter located approximately 10 kilometers north of the locality of Charaka.
The tremors were felt not only in Lakonia but also in neighboring areas, including parts of Arcadia and other regions of the Peloponnese. According to the revised assessment from the Geodynamic Institute of the National Observatory of Athens, the earthquake caused significant disturbances, waking residents in the city of Sparta.
