On June 24, 2026, a boat carrying 32 migrants was located approximately 40 nautical miles south of Kalo Lymino, Crete. The discovery was made by an aerial unit from FRONTEX, the European Border and Coast Guard Agency, as part of ongoing search and rescue efforts in the area.
The operation to locate the vessel was coordinated by the Unified Center for Search and Rescue in Greece. Following their rescue, the migrants were transported to the port of Kalo Lymino for further assistance.
