The Cypriot Cabinet has approved the establishment of a new initiative called "Easter Villages," set to launch in 2027, as announced by the deputy tourism ministry. This program aims to enhance tourism in rural, mountainous, and border communities across Cyprus during the Easter period. According to the ministry, the concept stems from the previous success of Christmas Villages and intends to provide visitors with unique experiences that showcase the country’s cultural heritage and traditions.
The Easter Villages will specifically target municipalities and communities along the "Heartland of Legends" route, promoting local tourism and benefiting smaller villages. The initiative is expected to create a range of activities and events that will attract both domestic and international tourists, thereby boosting the overall tourism product of Cyprus during the festive season. Various local authorities are invited to participate in this program, which aims to enrich the holiday experience in these regions.
