Residents of Aglandja are voting today for a new deputy mayor following the resignation of Andreas Konstantinou, who took a parliamentary seat in the May elections. Polling stations opened at 7:00 AM and will provide voting opportunities until 1:00 PM, after a one-hour break at noon. Candidates Andri Hadjiandreou and Prokopis Prokopiou have both exercised their voting rights and urged local citizens to participate in this electoral process.
As of noon, voter turnout was reported at 15.02%, with 2,281 ballots cast out of 15,182 registered voters in Aglandja. Despite the candidates' calls for participation, the turnout indicates a relatively low level of engagement among the electorate. The results of the election are expected to be announced at 8:30 PM today.
