A total of 1,100 missing persons have been identified from the official bi-communal list, as reported by Leonidas Pantelides, a Greek Cypriot member of the Committee on Missing Persons.
In addition to the identified individuals, six new missing persons were recently located in the northern areas of Cyprus, including two each in Kyra Morphou, Lapithos, and Lefkonoiko.
Pantelides provided this information during a session of the House Refugee Committee on July 7, 2026.
Currently, eight teams are involved in ongoing excavations related to missing persons cases, with seven operating in the northern territories.
The identification efforts also include 250 individuals classified as deceased.
