The municipality of Thessaloniki has announced a one-time payment of €1,000 for families that have a third or fourth child. This initiative was revealed by Mayor Stelios Angeloudis during a special session of the municipal council focused on social policy. The payment is part of a series of new measures aimed at supporting families in the region.
In addition to the cash incentive, the municipality will also provide free baby diapers for one year. This package of support measures is designed to alleviate some of the financial burdens faced by families with multiple children. These initiatives are expected to take effect starting in March 2027, as part of a broader strategy to improve family welfare within the city.
